Frequently Asked Questions

After your free trial, we’ll email you to ask about your experience and share personalised feedback from the session. This will include the strengths your child demonstrated and the areas where we believe we can support their progress. You’ll then be asked if you’d like to continue with lessons – and if not, that’s absolutely fine. We won’t hassle you to continue.

We make every effort to match children with the right tutors. Parents of shy children often remark how much working with their Tutoring Heroes tutor has increased their confidence and brought them out of their shell.

No. We’ll ask you some questions about your child to make sure we choose the best tutor to meet their needs. We take into account your child’s personality, strengths, and areas for improvement, as well any other information you feel will help.

When you book, we’ll ask you some basic questions about your child’s strengths, goals and preferences, so we can find the perfect tutor for them. You’ll then receive an email to confirm that your free taster lesson has been booked.

We have a minimum 3-month commitment in place, as this gives us the time needed to build momentum and ensure real progress. After this initial period, you’re free to cancel at any time – we don’t tie families into long-term contracts.

Satisfaction of both parents and children is extremely important to us. We’ll endeavour to find out what your child didn’t enjoy about the lesson, then seek to resolve the issue – for instance, by switching them to another tutor.

No, all lessons are conducted using our simple online whiteboard. You’ll be sent easy-to-follow instructions telling you how to access the online whiteboard prior to your child’s first lesson.

While we can’t guarantee specific grade increases – as every child responds to tutoring differently – all our students make significant progress in subject knowledge, understanding, and skills, as reflected in our 250+ reviews. This progress almost always leads to higher grades and test scores and it’s not uncommon for our GCSE and A-level students to improve by two or more grades.

We always do our best to work around your child’s needs. Let us know if you need to delay or reschedule a lesson and we’ll rebook at a time that suits you, and your child’s tutor.
